Google says it has been able to fix a recent problem with an Android phone app crashing.
Apps like Gmail, Facebook and Amazon were affected by the problem, which started on Monday.

An update to Android called ‘System WebView’ has been blamed for the situation, according to a BBC report.
To avoid the problem, Google has asked users to update their Android devices with ‘System Webview’ and Google’s Chrome browser.
A Google spokesman told the BBC: “We’ve fixed the WebView issue, which is causing some applications on Android to crash for some users.”
Affected users have shared on social media the report of app crash.
To update, Google asks you to follow the steps below:
Go to the Play Store app.
Search for Android System WebView.
Select the “Update” option.
Do the same for Google Chrome
